SEATTLE, September 2, 2008 — Widevine Technologies, the leading provider of downloadable conditional access, digital rights management and digital copy protection solutions will demonstrate how to securely enable delivery of content to managed network and internet connected consumer devices IBC 2008. Come see how these solutions secure IPTV, cable, DTT and hybrid deployments enabling operators to profitably expand their video businesses.

Widevine will showcase:

  • Multiformat, Multiplatform Content Protection: Widevine Cypher® secures telco, Internet, cable, hybrid distribution delivery to set-top boxes, PVRs, PCs, Macs and a host of internet connected consumer devices—all with a single content protection system. This Hollywood Studio approved solution enables video operators to license and acquire premium content for delivery to the connected devices consumers demand.

  • Extending TV to the PCs and Macs: Widevine Cypher seamlessly extends pay-TV services to native video players on PCs, Macs and other internet consumer devices. The solution converts MPEG2 transport streams so they are recognizable by Adobe Flash, Apple QuickTime and RealNetworks RealPlayer. It’s finally possible for operators to securely deliver existing TV content to retail consumer devices without the need for special connectors, head-end equipment or custom player software.

  • Forensic Watermarking and Tracking: Widevine Mensor™ can upgrade new and already deployed consumer devices to employ an invisible watermark that identifies and deters piracy. Content owners, video aggregators and operators alike are obtaining earlier release windows on premium content as a result of deploying Widevine Mensor.
